This is a great opportunity for a leader to create the curricular design for a PA program that serves two distinct populations- traditional aged students who would start as freshmen and continue through the completion of a master’s degree and those with appropriate bachelor’s degrees and professional experience who would enroll in a master’s degree program. Currently, the College of St. Joseph is seeking provisional status from ARC-PA in March of 2014 for this program. Therefore, it is preparing for a program review and evaluation visit in the fall of 2013 and desires the assistance of the new director to lead these institutional processes.

Position Description: The position is a 12-month administrative position with the general responsibilities in leading, administrating, maintaining, and structuring the PA program in accordance with the ARC-PA standards and best practices in PA education; recruiting faculty and promoting their professional development; securing an adequate number of appropriate clinical sites to support students’ professional development; overseeing the academic and clinical functions of the program through assessment and analysis; collaborating on the recruitment, admission, and retention of students in the program; teaching in the program; and coordinating the didactic components of the PA curriculum.

Qualifications:
• A physician assistant with current NCCPA certification with a master’s degree in PA studies from an accredited program is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in patient care as a PA is required with a preference of five years of academic experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff members, and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated management skills and substantive administrative experience.

Compensation and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and is coupled with a generous benefits program including medical, dental, retirement, term life, special tuition benefits covering employees, spouses, and dependent children, and all benefits including those prescribed by law.
